If you’re into fishing, you want to share that recreational hobby with your family.

Whether you’re driving to a secluded fishing hole for a few days or whether you’re just taking a quick day out on the lake, fishing can provide opportunities for you to really bond with your kids and pass the hobby along.

On your way, as you ride along in your Chevrolet truck, talk with your kids. Talk with them about water safety, and about how to safely bait a hook.

When you get to the fishing spot, make sure you give some hands-on help. make it a learning time for your kids. Show them how to cast their line, but let them try it on their own, as well.

Make it a positive experience for everyone, too. Set aside your own impatience and frustration. Understand that your kids may get bored. That’s OK; let them do something else for a while. They’ve had the exposure, and they’ll likely want to come back to it another time.

The 2008 Chevrolet Malibu is a wonderful choice of vehicle for you to take your family on a road trip.

Maybe you want to take a trip to a theme park in another state. Maybe you want to drive through the desert. Maybe you just want to have a day at the beach. No matter where you’re going, though, there are some preparations you should make ahead of time to insure that you get to your destination safely and happily.

Basic Maintenance

Some of the most basic things you can do to prepare your 2008 Chevrolet Malibu for your road trip are the basic sorts of maintenance tasks you normally do anyway. Making sure that your oil is changed, that your tires are inflated properly, and that your coolant system is working as it should are all part of preparing your Malibu for that road trip.

Your Route Matters

In addition, your choice of destination and route also determine the kinds of preparations you should make. For example, if you’re going to go to the beach, you’ll want to wash your Malibu and wax it with a protective wax. Clean your car’s inside with a UV protector to help keep your vinyl and your plastic surfaces safe from the rays of the sun. These measures help protect your car from the salty air of the sea, as well as the sun itself.

Desert driving has its own unique preparations, as well. When getting ready to drive through the desert, check your coolant system. Make sure your serpentine belt isn’t cracked. Test your Air Conditioning, or even have it professionally tested. Check your tire treads, and replace them if necessary.

When you drive your Chevy Malibu through the mountains, there are some different things you should do to prepare. You can check your brakes, and make sure you replace worn pads. Have your drive train checked, to make sure that it is functioning correctly. Inspect your wiper blades, and check your battery for corrosion.

When you drive a Chevrolet you can get just about anywhere you want to go. Whether you’re driving through the woods or across town, a Chevy truck is the best vehicle to be in.

When you do take your Chevy truck off road, however there are some important things that you need to keep in mind:

Look ahead. Always keep an eye out for what’s coming. Survey the road before you enter it, if possible. You want to make sure that there’s not a cliff, or just a dead end before you get there.

Drive straight. Driving diagonally down hills or steep terrain will increase your likelihood of a rollover.

Always drive within your ability. Make sure you take your time driving on the trail, so that you can pick a smooth path and you can react to changing terrain. If you go too fast, you could cause all sorts of problems, from a hole in your oil pan to knocking off your oil filter.

Try to cross obstacles like logs or ditches so that only one wheel is going over the obstacle at a time. This helps the vehicle to be able to climb over.

By keeping just these few basic tips in mind, your off-road experience can be a much safer and more successful one.

If you are looking for a new Chevrolet truck to go off-roading, come see us today. We’re your local Chevrolet dealer, and we’ve got the right truck for you.

Today, Chevrolet cars and trucks are much more complex than they were just twenty years ago. Advancement in computers, electronics, silicon chips, and even engines means that today’s vehicles need more care than ever.

The good news is, however, that basic car care doesn’t require an extensive mechanical knowledge. There are some things that anyone can do on a regular basis to keep their car in good working order.

The first thing you need to do to care for your vehicle is to inspect it regularly. You want to check for body or bumper damage, leaking fluids, warning lights, fluid levels, and tightness and good condition of belts. In addition, you need to watch for loose wires or other electrical connections, too.

Keeping your oil changed regularly is important, too. You need to get your oil changed around every 3,000 miles. In between oil changes, check the fill level to make sure that you’re not low.

You’ll also want to replace some other parts of your vehicle on a regular basis. These include the air filter, lamps in your lights, spark plugs and spark plug cables, the engine’s timing belt, and the windshield wipers.

The biggest thing to remember with ongoing vehicle maintenance is to address issues promptly, including engine knocking or other noises, and do your best to try to understand what may be going on before you visit the mechanic.

You can’t always predict what you’re going to be throwing into the bed of your new Chevy truck. It might be that you don’t really plan on using your truck bed on a regular basis, and it doesn’t occur to you that you might need something to protect it. Fortunately, there are things you can do to protect the bed of your new Chevy Truck.

First off, you can consider a bed liner for your truck. A bed liner is designed to take the hits, bumps, and scratches from things like tools, furniture, or even camping gear. Bed liners are designed to keep your truck bed sharp and damage-free.

Another way to protect your truck bed is with a truck box. You can install a truck box on the back of your Chevy pickup and keep most of your tools or other gear inside. A truck box provides weather protection for those items, too.

Finally, you can consider a topper for your truck bed. A topper protects your truck bed while keeping the elements off it as well. When combined with a bed liner, a topper provides a safe location for your equipment, and it does it in such a way that your bed will stay in pristine condition.

The 2009 Chevrolet Camaro SS brings to life something that’s been missing from the camaro for a long time.

The new Camaro SS, based on General Motor’s Zeta platform, is going to be a new and modern take on the classic 1969 Camaro. For many enthusiasts, the 1969 Camaro SS was the ultimate of the car’s first generation. This new Camaro was designed by a young group of designers, and is ready to take the sports car world by storm.

The Camaro SS will feature as standard General Motor’s global 3.6 liter V6. It is expected to get between 240 and 260 horsepower. The V8 option available for the 2009 Chevrolet Camaro SS will use the 6.2 liter GEN VI engine, which is capable of producing 400 horsepower.

The SS is expected to begin production at the end of 2008, and will hit dealerships sometime in early 2009.

Camaro enthusiasts around the world are excited, as this marks the long awaited return of one of Chevrolet’s favorite sports cars. Coupled with the return of the Corvette ZR1, Chevrolet is going back to its roots when it comes to sports car appeal.
