The Malibu: A Versatile Chevrolet Car

If you’re looking for a versatile Chevrolet car with many choices, the new Malibu is for you. One of the best things about this Chevrolet car is that you can get it in either a fuel-efficient traditional model or a hybrid version of the same car. With all the choices, it might be hard to make a decision. But the Malibu is also one of the safest cars on the market. Here are some ways this Chevrolet car helps you stay safe even before an accident happens.

• Daytime running lights (DRLs) are on even during the day so other cars can see you easier. DRLs have been proven to reduce the number of accidents in recent years.
• The Driver Information Center (DIC) helps you know what’s going on with your vehicle. If it needs an oil change, engine coolant or even gas, this area lets you know. It also gives information about current fuel usage and other data at your fingertips.
• The Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) helps the driver maintain control of the car even when slamming on the brakes.
• The side blind zone alert warns drivers about other vehicles in the blind spot before they try to change lanes.

These are just a few reasons why you should visit your local dealer and see these Chevrolet cars for yourself.

New Chevrolet Models Gearing Up for Auto Show

General Motors is ready to showcase several new Chevrolet models at the upcoming North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Here are some of the new Chevrolet models you can expect to see at the show and at your local dealer in the near future.

The New Chevrolet Cruze
This new compact car is supposed to get upwards of 40 miles to the gallon on the highways. This isn’t just any compact car, though. It’s more “refined and attractive than any previous small car,” according to Detroit Free Press writer Mark Phelan.

The 2011 Cruze has also been recognized as a segment favorite at the Paris Auto Show earlier this year. It was the worldwide debut for this new Chevrolet model. Those “in the know” expect it to beat out its competition in the segment without any problem.

The New Chevrolet Equinox
This crossover has a car-like platform combined with the convenience of a sport utility vehicle. With a V6 engine and other features, the newest edition of the Equinox is sure to make an impression at the Detroit show.

General Motors is also planning to debut other models in January at the show, including a replacement for the Malibu and other Chevrolet cars. If you’re in the area next month, stop by and take a gander at all the new cars you’ll see on dealer lots before long.

Could New Chevrolet Car Czar be a Reality?

Did you ever think the federal government would institute a new Chevrolet car czar to oversee the business matters of this popular automaker? It’s one of the ideas being tossed around in Congress and it could be a reality!

Chevrolet cars wouldn’t be the only ones affected by an appointed “car czar.” The Big Three automakers asking for bailout money would be subject to such an overseer as part of an agreement to them accepting the money. The overseer would be part of the Commerce Department and the person in this position would also have the power to restructure companies or force them to declare bankruptcy.

Some members of Congress want to give the makers Chevrolet car maker and other automakers the emergency bailout money now with the condition that President-elect Obama could name an overseer when he takes office.

Either way, the spokesperson for the White House said that they will insist that “taxpayer assistance only be considered for companies willing to make the difficult decisions across the scope of their businesses to be viable and competitive in the future.”

If you’ve invested in a new Chevrolet car in the last few years, you know that the automaker has made great strides in new technology and fuel economy in order to compete in today’s changing market. You can be assured they will continue to be a competitor in the auto industry for years to come.

Chevrolet NJ Dealerships Applaud Lower Gas Prices

I recently saw a headline on the front page of Yahoo News that asked, “Could $1 Gas Be a Reality?” If it is, it could be great news for Chevrolet NJ dealerships and Chevy dealers all across the country.

Earlier this year, bloggers were going crazy talking about the soaring gas prices. I’ll admit…I was one of them. But you don’t see too many news stories these days about the gas prices going down, do you? Your Chevy dealerships want to report the good news as well as the bad, so we’re going to look at the lowering fuel prices and what it means for you and your Chevrolet cars.

The main reason for the drop in gas prices is the price of a barrel of oil. In July, this price hit an all-time high at $147.27 for a barrel. This brought gas prices up to an average of $4.11 per gallon. In the last five months though, the price of a barrel of oil has gone down more than 70 percent! Combine that with lower demand for gas and other factors and it’s very possible that prices could go back to the 1999 prices of about a buck for a gallon of gas.

I’m always for lower prices. But even if gas prices don’t go back down to a dollar a gallon, I wouldn’t complain about where the prices are at right now. Where I live, I’m paying about $1.70 for a gallon and I would expect prices to be a little higher than they were in 1999. But I certainly won’t complain if they drop even more.

Chevrolet NJ Dealers Present the 2011 Volt

If you haven’t heard of the new Volt yet, your Chevrolet NJ dealers want to bring it to your attention. These Chevrolet cars may just be the answer the automaker needs to its current financial problems.

The 2011 Chevrolet Volt is an electric car. It’s as simple as that. But there’s more. First of all, it’s the first electric car produced by General Motors. As a result, GM has something to prove in order to corner the market for this type of vehicle. From the way it looks, the automaker has accomplished its goal.

From looking at the new Volt, you wouldn’t know it was an electric vehicle. It doesn’t have that funky futuristic appeal to it like most other electric vehicles. In fact, it looks like a normal sport sedan model. That way, you don’t have to worry about people looking at your funny in your Volt because they probably won’t even know it’s an electric car.

On the inside of the Volt, you’ll find several modern features that you simply can’t resist. A seven-inch LCD instrument panel displays everything you need to know while you’re driving. There is also a touch-screen panel for controlling the climate and entertainment features. With all of this, how could you ask for anything more?

Looking at the New Chevrolet 2009 Avalanche

The new Chevrolet 2009 Avalanche has come a long way since its 2002 predecessor won Motor Trend’s Truck of the Year Award. Even though it won such a prestigious award that year, the new Chevrolet Avalanche is much better this year than it has ever been! Here are some changes you may notice in these new Chevrolet cars.

The Hyrda Matic 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission is one of the most noticeable changes for the 2009 Avalanche. This new transmission increases gas mileage and reduces engine noise for a quieter and more enjoyable ride.

The new Chevrolet Avalanche also has many more features than its 2002 predecessor. The backup camera is one of the new safety features that allows drivers to see what is behind them before they back up. It also assists drivers when pulling into tight parking spots and reduces the “bumps” many drivers use to see how close they are to the parked vehicle behind them. There is also a state-of-the-art navigation system included in the 2009 Avalanche, giving drivers more peace of mind on those long road trips. Finally, rain-sensing wipers give drivers a truly unique and enjoyable experience behind the wheel regardless of the weather outside.

Will the New Corvette be Delayed?

There have been all sorts of rumors floating around about Chevrolet’s brand new Corvette. Many have stated that the next-generation C7 Chevy Corvette will include a dual-clutch version, for instance, or that it will be able to fly through the air. Okay, so maybe that last one doesn’t have much of a basis in reality.

But I digress.

One of the rumors floating around about the C7 Chevy Corvette that is gaining some steam is that its release will be delayed because of current economic problems and because of a little something known as the CAFE regulations. The upcoming CAFE regulations are in regards to fuel economy standards. The regulations were passed by the United States House of Representatives and will serve to be part of a long-range energy bill that could threaten the production of vehicles that have less than desirable fuel economy standards.

Many are suggesting that the new Corvette might struggle in this area. The economic woes of Chevrolet and General Motors are perhaps also to blame for the rumors of delayed release.

There is more to this story than just rumors, sadly. A report from AutoWeek magazine has stated that Chevrolet has put production of the new C7 Corvette on “indefinite hold.” What that will mean for the car company and for other Chevy cars remains to be seen, but we will keep our eyes on the story and bring you all of the updates.

Chevrolet Cuts Sports Sponsorships

With the economic downturn, many car companies are cutting back. Chevrolet is not immune to the changing economic climate and has had to make some changes to its strategy, which has included some changes in production and some shifts in advertising.

Bloomberg recently reported that Chevrolet’s next move was to cut back on sports sponsorships. This cutback comes in light of falling sales and the economic situation, as the car company attempts to even out its financial forecast. The cutback involves Chevrolet cutting back spots for college sports and broadcasting advertisements only during games.

General Motors and Ford have reduced sports marketing as a way to cut costs in light of falling sales and plummeting stock prices. U.S. auto sales slid 27% in September. Deteriorating consumer confidence and a slowing economy may erode them further, which means these changes are necessary. Car companies like GM and Ford won’t survive if they can’t figure out a way to regain the lost ground.

Luckily, the economic downturn can benefit you as a consumer. Drop on by your local dealer today for more information on Chevy cars and trucks promotions. There are plenty of opportunities to save money now buying or leasing a new Chevrolet or GM car. Talk to your dealer today and see how you can benefit from the changing economic tide.

Basic Car Care For New Drivers

Today, Chevrolet cars and trucks are much more complex than they were just twenty years ago. Advancement in computers, electronics, silicon chips, and even engines means that today’s vehicles need more care than ever.

The good news is, however, that basic car care doesn’t require an extensive mechanical knowledge. There are some things that anyone can do on a regular basis to keep their car in good working order.

The first thing you need to do to care for your vehicle is to inspect it regularly. You want to check for body or bumper damage, leaking fluids, warning lights, fluid levels, and tightness and good condition of belts. In addition, you need to watch for loose wires or other electrical connections, too.

Keeping your oil changed regularly is important, too. You need to get your oil changed around every 3,000 miles. In between oil changes, check the fill level to make sure that you’re not low.

You’ll also want to replace some other parts of your vehicle on a regular basis. These include the air filter, lamps in your lights, spark plugs and spark plug cables, the engine’s timing belt, and the windshield wipers.

The biggest thing to remember with ongoing vehicle maintenance is to address issues promptly, including engine knocking or other noises, and do your best to try to understand what may be going on before you visit the mechanic.
